I Painted My Hat

I got this hat free and it had an ugly logo on it so I thought hey, why not.
God I hope I start work soon…

Nixon

When I started drawing this it wasn’t going to be a picture of disgraced former US president Richard Nixon, but after I had done the eyebrows and jowls that’s who it looked like so I figured who was I to argue and carried on with it. I’m not much of a caricaturist so I’m pretty proud of the fact that it looks even remotely like him, even more so given that I wasn’t working of any references. And my American friend Jess said it was good, and she would know.

This House Will be The Death Of Me

Still thinking that I might one day move out of the cancer house, I was sorting through some old stuff of mine and found this:

Which, despite the title, looks awfully like the teddy bears I frequent my pictures with now. I must have been five at the very oldest when I drew this.
Also in the same pile I found this picture, which quite frankly creeps me the fuck out:

Troubled childhood? Overactive imagination? Or a sinister portent of the future?
Today at the bus stop I overheard a Russian (I think) couple talking, and the man was laughing about how sinister comes from the Latin word for left, and the was the side that his stroke mangled. This is unrelated to anything, I just thought it was an odd thing to be so jovial about at a bus stop.

For Wiping Stupid Babies

I got given a digital camera for my birthday so hopefully that’ll shake me out of the unproductive burnt-out slump I’ve been in since Makeshift #4 was released. Oh that’s right, there’s a new magazine out in the world. Best ever. Have a look here for more.

Still on the new camera buzz, here’s a picture of some teddy bears that live on my wall:

They were placeholders for a painting I was working on, and now they live there. Such is life.
